Mission

Iowa EDNF Mission:
To provide information and support services to Iowans with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and to serve as an information link to and from the medical community about this rare connective tissue disorder.

Iowa EDNF Branch Goals:

  • To provide information and emotional support to Iowans with EDS and their families through phone support, a regular newsletter and support group meetings.

  • To inspire and support local and national research regarding the effects of EDS.

  • Secure financial support for local operations and national and local research.

2001 Annual Objectives:

  • To develop and offer a regular newsletter to Iowa members.

  • To increase communication and support services for Iowa EDNF members through listserv and telecommunications.

  • To increase attendance at support group meetings by 25%.

  • To increase Iowa EDNF presence through mass mailings, media coverage, and presentations.

  • Increase both national and Iowa membership base by 50%.

  • To raise sufficient finances to cover mailing/operational costs

  • Sponsor 1 full scholarship to the 2002 EDNF Learning Conference.
